Philadelphia & PA Based Homeowner/Household Resources

• Adaptive Modification Program provides free accessibility modifications for people with permanent physical disabilities in Philadelphia.
• Basic Systems Repair Program provides free emergency home repairs on eligible owner-occupied single-family homes in Philadelphia.
• City of Philadelphia Department of Housing and Community Development offers help with home improvement and repairs.
• Community Legal Services of Philadelphia provides free civil legal assistance support for low-income families around many issues, including housing and homeownership. 
• Department of Planning & Development (DPD) has a Housing Helper Search Tool that helps Philadelphia residents buy, repair, and keep their homes by providing a curated list of programs for which you may be eligible.
• Energy Coordinating Agency provides winterization, heater replacement, and bill payment support for Philadelphia residents.
• Heater Hotline Program provides emergency heater repairs for low-income residents in Philadelphia.
• Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides grants to assist low-income families in PA with home heating costs.
• PHFA Homeowners Energy Efficiency Loan Program provides low-interest loans for energy efficiency repairs for PA residents.
• Restore, Repair, Renew Program offers low-interest loans up t $25,000 to help homeowners make improvements in Philadelphia.
• Save Your Home Philly is staffed with trained lawyers and paralegals to assist and prevent low-income homeowners from falling into foreclosure.
• Senior Housing Assistance Repair Program (SHARP) makes free minor repairs for residents who are over 60 in Philadelphia.
• Tacony Tool Library allows you to rent tools and take classes to make home repairs or do community projects for an affordable annual membership fee.
• West Philly Tool Library allows you to rent tools and take classes to make home repairs or do community projects for an affordable annual membership fee.

National Homeowner/Household Resources

• Affordable Connectivity Program helps low-income households pay for broadband service and internet-connected devices at reduced prices.
• American Red Cross–Sound the Alarm Program gives away 50,000 free fire alarms. Contact them today to receive yours.
• Consumer Financial Protection Bureau helps homeowners avoid foreclosure, repay items not paid during forbearance, and maintain reverse mortgages.
• Federal Housing Finance Agency provides guidance for lenders, servicers, and others who directly assist homeowners impacted by COVID-19. 
• HUD Homeowner Help provides support and information for those with housing issues or facing foreclosure.
• MBA Opens Doors Foundation offers a home grant program to provide mortgage and rental payment assistance grants to parents and guardians caring for a critically ill or injured child, allowing them to take unpaid leave from work and spend precious time together without jeopardizing their cherished homes.
• Need Help Paying Bills? offers a collection of national organizations dedicated to helping low-income families receive discounted or free goods and services.
• Nestment provides services to help individuals buy their first home through shared homeownership models, offering strategic assistance in home affordability and navigating the homebuying process, with a focus on co-buying real estate with friends, family, or partners.
• Rebuilding Together repairs homes, revitalizes communities and rebuilds lives by providing funding for low-income households to make necessary repairs to their homes. 
• US Government Housing Support provides information and services to help with finding and keeping a home.
• Working Cars for Working Families was created to ensure that working families can get, keep, and use reliable cars at a fair price.
